BRAZILIAN footballer Bruno Nunes, known for his impressive tackle record at the Sao Paulo-based Santos, has revealed that he has broken his own record in terms of tackles.

Nunes, who plays as a right-back, has scored four goals this season and has been named in the squad for the Copa Libertadores final against Manchester United next month. He is currently sitting on 116 caps under the Brazilian flag.

The 28-year-old said: "I'm very happy to break my own record. It's not just about scoring goals but also being able to take part in matches like the Copa Libertadores, which is one of the most important tournaments in the world."

He added: "It was a difficult goal, because I had to be really aggressive. I didn't want to miss any tackles, so I had to be very strong and use my legs well."

Nunes' tackle record stands at 1799, which means that he has taken down 1799 tackles since his debut in 2014. The Portuguese national team captain believes that his efforts have paid off, saying: "The record shows how hard I work and how far I've come."

He went on to say that he would continue to push himself further in order to achieve even more records. "I hope to keep improving my tackle record and become even better," he said.

Nunes' tackle record is likely to be remembered by fans and players alike as it demonstrates his dedication to the sport and his commitment to playing at the highest level.
